Working principle
The plastic extruder has undergone more than 200 years of development since its birth. Nowadays, the technology of single screw extruder is very mature. Generally, single screw extruder can be divided into three working areas according to the screw: conveying section, compression section, and metering section.
The thread behind the material mouth is called the conveying section, during which the material must not be plasticized and is important for conveying materials. Cooling devices are also installed on some large-diameter extruders to prevent material plasticization and avoid affecting material conveying speed due to material melting.
After the material passes through the conveying section, it enters the compression section. At this stage, the volume between the screw and the barrel decreases, and the temperature reaches the plasticizing temperature, causing the material to be compressed. (Shrinking from the initial volume to one-third of its original size, this is called the compression ratio of the screw 3:1)
When the material completes the plasticization operation, it will enter the measuring section and quantitatively transport the molten material to the machine head for production needs.
